Teaching & Learning Conference meets eFest

Hello everyone,

On Tuesday 29 September 2009 the NZ eLearning Forum is organising an eFest Open Space Day as an opening event to the joint Teaching & Learning meets eFest conference. This is a day for anyone who has an interest in exploring how technology can be used to enhance teaching & learning, online or in the classroom.

In line with the overall conference theme, activities during the Open Space day should address the general theme of "21st century learners - what are they and what do they mean for you?"

How can you participate?

1. Register for the eFest Open Space day here at the conference site. Only NZ$35 for the day!
2. Suggest a topic, start a conversation or share an experience/interest you want to talk about on the Suggested Topics page
3. Indicate which other topics you would be interested in on the Suggested Topics page
4. Come to the eFest Open Space Day ready to talk, collaborate, challenge others' thinking, learn & share what you do.

We're looking forward to learning from everyone!

@justin am sure ePortfolios would be another popular theme. Be sure to pop it in the Suggested Topics page.

@justin re LDnet, I think that some of the people involved in that could perhaps lead the discussion on the first suggested topic on the wiki, Formal Approaches to Learning Design. Can you perhaps suggest that at LDnet?

Also wonder how many people are interested in ePortfolios? I've made a small start on getting a community together around this on our site - ePortfolios in NZ. PS - if you're interested, would be great if you'd join and let us know what you're up to...

would anyone be interested in getting together to discuss going forward with LDNet? LDNet's sitting on our website with 38 members, but not much activity lately. Perhaps some people might be interested in developing ideas for collaborative projects/research with a mind for applying for funding from Ako Aotearoa?

Assume you mean 21stc? That sounds like a great idea Derek. Want to pull the cart on that one? Maybe hook up with one of the Palmerston North schools/teachers?

Lets invite some real 20th Century learners in and ask them what they do.
